House to House “Lost to Leader” Toolbox 2

“How is what you are doing now getting you to where you want to go?”

Throughout this journey, we have discovered many helpful tools, videos, and resources, and we have learned something from each of them. As we continue to pray, study, and seek God’s direction, we want to be intentional about focusing on what He is specifically speaking to us regarding disciple-making movements and house church multiplication.

As we move forward together, we will be sharing this language, these tools, and these principles so that we can all grow, stay aligned, and move in the same direction. We want to make the path clear and unobstructed. Jesus used instruction and structure for a clear path for the disciples.

We know the end point and the starting point. What we do in the middle is vital. What is my responsibility as a disciple maker taking someone from lost to leader. This pathway helps me to know where I am with the person I am having conversations with. It also helps me to know what’s next.

Now we will see Tool #2 come into action. Our conversations take on a more meaningful, spiritual talking and questioning time. This is where a link between quads #2 and #3 just like in field #2 and #3. Conversations turn into the gospel being shared, maybe using the three circles.

Tool #2 The Traffic Light

32 When they heard about the resurrection of the dead, some of them sneered, but others said, “We want to hear you again on this subject.” 33 At that, Paul left the Council. 34 Some of the people became followers of Paul and believed. Among them was Dionysius, a member of the Areopagus, also a woman named Damaris, and a number of others

RED – Not receptive to the gospel. It is not our responsibility to make someone believe. Our responsibility is to obey God, who tells us to go. Read Luke 10:1–12 again. When people responded negatively, the disciples did not force the conversation. They maintained the relationship and moved on. Often, we want everyone to be receptive to us and to the gospel. If that were the case, ministry would be easy. But when has plowing a field ever been easy?

YELLOW – Open to learning more. We begin with the 7 Stories of Hope to introduce Jesus and then move into the Commands of Christ. This reflects the “others” in Luke 10 who wanted to hear more. At this stage, we are helping make the pathway clear so they can better understand who Jesus is and what it means to follow Him.

GREEN – “Yes, I want Jesus!” Discipleship begins with the Commands of Christ, (obey.tools). Baptism follows as an outward expression of faith and obedience. We begin to see the pattern described in 2 Timothy 2:2–7 as new believers grow, are equipped, and learn to make disciples who make disciples.

Not every conversation becomes spiritual.

Not every spiritual conversation becomes a Bible study.

Not every Bible study becomes a disciple.

That’s okay. Faithfulness still matters.
